Pray

As the 25th of January comes closer, I am constantly thinking of what I need to pack and do before I leave... which clothes to pack, which shoes to take, what not to take, what to say to people before I leave, who to see before I leave, etc.  The stresses of everything began to really scare me and finally I realized I forgot one of the most important things to worry about. My faith.  So I started to pray.  Italy is basically the capital of my faith, but I seemed to forget all about it during my preparations.  So last night I did some research online for devotionals that I could take, slept on it and then spent sometime today looking at them in person.  Good news, I found two. One for the morning and one for the evening :)  Okay okay, so I couldn't decide between two of them and ended up getting both.  They are both very different and not too pricey thus I thought they would be a good investment.

When you feel stressed or anxious about something, I hope that you just take a minute to clear your mind and pray.  I know it made me feel a lot better.  I pray that you all have a wonderful and lovely next few months.  AND If something exciting happens remember I am only in Italy and not dead so UPDATE ME :)

Sending my love and blessings...

Backpacks...

So for traveling, backpacks are not joking matter.  Finding the right one can be tricky.  Especially if you want one that will fit enough things while still remaining small enough to carry on an airplane.  I also have to keep in mind how heavy it can get when I fill it with my necessities.  I am short after all, and I don't want one that is overwhelming.

after much research online and reading of tons of customer reviews I may have found the perfect one...

Anticipation

In 1 week I will be in route to Florence, Italy. Yes I am excited, but more than anything I am nervous. There is so much to do, pack, and think about before getting over there. I need to brush up on my italian because it is VERY rusty. Well 7 days left Veronica, good luck with that. Also, how can a GIRL pack for an entire semester abroad in half a suitcase? Not to mention the amount of layers needed to keep warm in the WINTER!!! EEK. Well time is counting down and soon I will start my european adventures. I can not wait, but can time slow down so I can actually be ready for them?

Blog Beginnings

Ciao Tutti,

As many of you know, I have been blessed with the opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy this Spring 2011 semester. I have been dreaming of visiting Italy since I was 7 and that dream is finally coming true.  Since I will be in Italia for a little more than 100 days, I figured I should share my adventures at your leisure rather than coming back and bombarding you with endless hours of stories.

A few things on my bucket list for this experience:
  • learn how to cook delicious Italian Food
  • be cultured on Italian wines
  • visit the Vatican (every good Catholic should, right? I think so)
  • attend Carnevale >>> Italy's month long version Mardi Gras, except BETTER!!!
  • become fluent in Italian
The list goes on and on.  (not in any particular order of course)
I will be studying at Lorenzo Di Medici International Institute.  LDM does not have classes on Fridays and I managed to not have class on Mondays either.  Hopefully, it works to my advantage.  I will miss you all tons and I hope you enjoy looking at my Italy4Veronica Blog.  CIAO CIAO!

Feel free to live vicariously through my blog :)
